Backend Developer (m/f/d)

For REWE digital Spain, a subsidiary of REWE Group, located in the Technological Park of Andalusia
(PTA) in Malaga we are looking for a Backend Developers (m/f/d) that will be part of the Store
Task management that its responsible to manage the Tasks/requirements.


As the central solution provider for information and telecommunications systems we plan, develop,
configure, and operate efficient systems and applications for the REWE Group, one of the leading
trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe with around 380,000 employees. Our team of over
2,200 IT specialists sets standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and develops new
technologies for the sector. Currently, we manage more than 80 logistics centers, 100 wide area
network cables, and over 23,000 local network connections to ensure continuous data supply to the
32,000 scanner check-out desks in more than 7,300 stores.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain web applications for German retailer REWE Group
  • Design, implementation, quality assurance and documentation of the code
  • Code responsible from the very beginning until production environment
  • Participation in the design of software architectures and the selection of technologies
  • Work closely together with a German product team (English language)

What you will bring:

  • Degree in Computer Sciences, Informatics or related field
  • Experienced in Java 8+ development and related frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Practical experiences in software development and working in a development team
  • Good testing practices (Unit testing, Junit, Mockito, automated testing)
  • Experienced practices in some Database development (SQL, Hibernate, Hadoop, Db2, HBase)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and starving to keep learning and touching new languages/frameworks
  • You live in Spain, and you have a valid work permit/VISA
  • Verbal and written advanced knowlodge of the English language

Nice to have:

  • Kotlin and Linux shell experience
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, Kubernetes and/or GCP
  • Experience using Big Data tools such as Yarn and Apache Drill
  • Knowledge of German language
