REWE digital Spain belongs to REWE Group, one of the leading trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe with around 390,000 employees. In REWE digital overall there are over 2,200 IT specialists who set standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and development of new technologies for the sector. 

REWE digital Spain is located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga. As a team of 30 colleagues, we drive innovation for REWE digital in Germany. Your newly founded team in Spain will administer data catalog and API management platforms to create transparency about data and APIs within REWE digital. In this respect your team is the basis for a modern IT infrastructure with decentral data ownership.  

We are looking for a Product Owner (PO) – someone who combines the entrepreneurial spirit to find innovative solutions with a team in Spain and at the same time manages and promotes the topic among diverse stakeholders in Germany.

What you will do:

  • You are holistically responsible for your product and your budget.   
  • You make life easier for many colleagues: By providing and supporting our mobile frameworks based on modern mobile technologies. 
  • You take responsibility: For the strategic direction of the product, the product vision and roadmap together with the team and stakeholders. 
  • You design the product backlog for our central mobile base technology, which is used in all individually developed Android app solutions in the B2E environment.      
  • You write, prioritize and evaluate user stories together with team members and stakeholders such as our user experience department or the product owners of the specialist applications. 
  • You perform the commercial and organizational tasks for the product within the company. 
  • You communicate transparently about the progress of your product development and proactively ensure that customer behavior and the use of the product are measured. 
  • You stay up-to-date and keep yourself informed about trends and innovations on the market.   
  • You stand for transparent, open communication with your team, your stakeholders and your colleagues.  

What you will bring:

  • You as a person are at the center of attention and are enthusiastic about agile working: You believe in cooperative collaboration and want to work with others to find the best solution -your confident demeanor paired with your high-quality standards for yourself, and others will help you achieve this. 
  • Experience in presenting and moderating content in a way that is appropriate for the target group and a ‘heart for nerds’. 
  • Your successfully completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification 
  • Your knowledge of modern Android technologies such as Kotlin, Jetpack Compose or comparable frameworks and your enthusiasm for using them in technological solutions while keeping an eye on their economic benefits. 
  • Experience with the use of user-centred approaches 
  • Your ability to act as a facilitator between the development team in Spain and our stakeholders in Germany and as an interface between all stakeholders.   
  • Fluent English is required, good German skills would be a benefit due to our corporate language, ideally you also speak Spanish. 
  • Willingness to be regularly present in the Malaga office.  
  • Your availability to travel to Germany from time to time.
