REWE digital Spain belongs to REWE Group, one of the leading trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe with around 390,000 employees. In REWE digital overall there are over 2,200 IT specialists who set standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and development of new technologies for the sector. 

REWE digital Spain is located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga. As a team of 30 colleagues, we drive innovation for REWE digital in Germany. Your newly founded team in Spain will administer data catalog and API management platforms to create transparency about data and APIs within REWE digital. In this respect your team is the basis for a modern IT infrastructure with decentral data ownership.  

We are looking for a Product Owner (PO) – someone who combines the entrepreneurial spirit to find innovative solutions with a team in Spain and at the same time manages and promotes the topic among diverse stakeholders in Germany.

What you will do:

  • You are holistically responsible for your product and your budget.   
  • Your team will be responsible to administer two solutions (Collibra & Gravitee) and you will steer the mentioned service providers throughout the entire process. 
  • Together with your team, you will help to make processes more efficient through automation.
  • You will promote the concept of data mesh and advertise the usages of these platforms within REWE digital. 
  • Together with your team and your stakeholders, you will shape the product vision and product roadmap and ensure the basis for a modern IT infrastructure. 
  • You are responsible for developing the backlog, identifying dependencies together with the stakeholders, the team and the respective experts and ultimately deciding on priorities, which you also represent.   
  • You stay up-to-date and keep yourself informed about trends and innovations on the market.   
  • You stand for transparent, open communication with your team, your stakeholders and your colleagues.  

What you will bring:

  • First and foremost, your personality: your commitment and reliability, paired with the ability to work in a team.  
  • Innovative strength, entrepreneurial thinking, and foresight as well as a results- and goal-oriented way of working.   
  • A degree in computer science or business administration with a strong focus on IT or comparable training with several years of professional experience   
  • Your experience as a product owner in an agile working environment  
  • Your methodological expertise (e.g. SCRUM/KANBAN/UX/design thinking methods)   
  • Your communication skills in a multinational team and across national borders - both written and verbal  
  • Your ability to act as an interface between all stakeholders - the development team in Spain and the translation of requirements from stakeholders in Germany  
  • Your technical understanding e.g. for Kubernetes and Terraform helps you to communicate with your team and stakeholders at eye level 
  • Fluent English is required, good German skills would be a benefit due to our corporate language, ideally you also speak Spanish 
  • Your availability to travel to Germany from time to time 
  • Willingness to relocate to Andalusia and be regularly present in the Malaga office
